The learning process

by ben last modified 22-10-2007 15:51

Approaches to learning that are empowering for young people are consistent with national and international approaches to quality education.

The Sustainable Living Challenge fosters an approach to learning that is grounded in the day to day reality of the learner.  These learner centred processes come in many forms and many teachers have been pioneering these in classrooms all over the country.

These processes are more commonly understood as:

  • rich tasks
  • inquiry based learning
  • teaching and learning projects
  • project based learning
  • experiential learning
  • action research and learning.

Teachers are encouraged to explore their own pathways to educate for a sustainable future and take up their own sustainable living challenge!
