National Tree Day
Each year, around 200 000 Australian school students participate in a special National Tree Day event designed just for children – Schools Tree Day! It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to make a contribution to Australia’s natural environment and have lots of fun at the same time. Getting involved in Schools Tree Day is a great thing to do. You can see your teachers get their hands dirty, make your school look beautiful, have fun with your friends and help the environment all at once!

Today, NAIDOC is a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an opportunity to recognise the contributions of Indigenous Australians in various fields. Activities take place across the nation during NAIDOC Week in the first full week of July. All Australians are encouraged to participate.
World Oceans Day
The World Oceans Day coordinates events and activities with aquariums, zoos, museums, conservation organizations, universities, schools, and businesses. Each year an increasing number of countries and organizations have been marking June 8th as an opportunity to celebrate our world ocean and our personal connection to the sea. World Oceans Day is now officially recognized by the UN as June 8th each year. Why Should you Celebrate World Oceans Day: -Generates most of the oxygen we breathe -Helps feed us -Regulates our climate -Cleans the water we drink -Offers us a pharmacopoeia of potential medicines -Provides limitless inspiration! Now we need to capitalize on this fresh momentum! We hope you will be involved in planning or participating in a World Oceans Day celebration near you! UN World Environment Day
World Environment Day (WED) 2010 is aimed to be the biggest, most widely celebrated, global day for positive, environmental action. Commemorated on 5 June since 1972, WED is one of the principal vehicles through which the UN stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and encourages political attention and action. WED is also a day for advocating partnerships among all stakeholders or perhaps, even more correctly, among all species living on this one planet and sharing a common future. We call for action – organize a neighborhood clean-up, stop using plastic bags and get your community to do the same, plant a tree or better yet organize a collective tree planting effort, walk to work, start a recycling drive . . . the possibilities are endless.
