Submitting your projects

by admin last modified 22-01-2008 10:45

Closing date for submitting projects is the last Friday in October

To profile your projects through the Sustainable Living Challenge, you must be a registered teacher.

A submission to the Sustainable Living Challenge is essentially an opportunity for you and your school to profile and share your story. Sharing stories is important because you take time to reflect on what you have learnt, communicate your ideas and do justice to all your hard work. The process of documenting your project is a critical part of the learning process fostered by the program. It is also a useful tool for raising awareness about your project and the activities of your school in the Sustainable Living Challenge.

From 2007 we streamlined our submission process, making it easier for teachers and students to share their amazing stories without having to worry about sending us all their project materials.

There are now two ways that you can take part in the Sustainable Living Challenge.

1. Submit online via the SLC website

Complete the project submission form online. This is the quickest way to profile your work through the Sustainable Living Challenge. With our online form you can:

  • take your time to answer questions, you can save drafts and come back at a later stage to complete all the answers
  • review your answers before you submit your project
  • attach photos and images to support your submission
  • attach your class list for student certificates
  • generate a receipt of your submission for your archives.

To submit your project online you will need your login details (user name and password) These details would have been emailed to you upon registration. If you have forgotten your login, click here, enter your details and your login will be emailed to you.

Click here to login to your home page and submit your project.

2. Submit electronically via email

Click here to download the project submission form (a word document) or request a form via email. To view the list of questions click here. There is one form for all types of projects (individual, group or school) but note that there are some different questions for school projects (Q5). Complete the questions and email your completed project form with your images and class list to projects@sustainableliving.com.au.

For all submissions

You will receive an email notification that your project submission form has been received. This may take a few days. If you have not received this email within a week, please contact the Education Coordinator on (02) 9385 4979 or email info@sustainableliving.com.au.

It is not necessary to provide hard copy resources such as student portfolios, posters, multimedia resources but you can do so if you wish. Any supporting material must be specifically referenced in your project submission form and clearly labelled, otherwise it will not be considered. No models will be accepted. Due to the excessive cost involved in returning hard copy resources, we can only return your student’s work if specifically requested. Supporting material can be posted to:

The Sustainable Living Challenge
Faculty of the Built Environment
The University of New South Wales
Sydney UNSW 2052 NSW Australia

If you have problems submitting your project form electronically please contact the Education Coordinator on (02) 9385 4979 or email info@sustainableliving.com.au.

The fine print

  • Individual feedback is not provided on all submissions
  • All reprints and corrections on certificates must be finalised before the end of term 1 each year.
  • Any hard copy materials provided will only be returned if specifically requested. Please ensure students keep a copy of their work.
