For the community

Taking the time to submit to this site helps build a comprehensive resource for the growing community of teachers who are committed to education for sustainability and environmental education.  There are many teachers who are just starting on this journey and need resources to help them in the classroom.

For your professional recognition

If you have written a resource or teaching program yourself, and contribute this to teachsustainability for others to use free of charge, you will receive a professional recognition certificate to acknowledge your contribution to the site and the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. Certificates are produced by the Sustainable Living Challenge at the University of New South Wales.

The Teach Sustainability Award

Each year the Teach Sustainability award will be presented to the teacher(s)  submitting the most innovative teaching program to the site. Self-authored resources must be submitted by 31 October to be considered for the award. A panel of educators will review the teaching resources to determine the most innovative resource which will be announced December.  A prize will also be presented to the awarded teacher(s).
